Proper maintenance is important for the function and condition of your ATV. There are multiple factors to keep in mind when taking care of your ATV, including servicing your wiring and replacing filters and batteries. 

Here are a few key tips for maintaining your ATV.  

Replace the Filters

Your ATV contains filters that block harmful particles from reaching your engine and causing damage. Over time, the filters become less effective and eventually need to be replaced. Create a consistent schedule for oil changes and swapping out the oil filter. Additionally, it’s important to change the air filter for older ATVs and swap out the fuel filter after inspection!

Maintain the ATV Wiring

It’s easy to knock wires loose when ATV riding. These wires can easily get snagged on low-hanging branches or other obstacles you encounter on the trail. Look over your wiring system regularly to catch any loose wires as soon as possible. 

It's also important to keep duct tape stored somewhere on your ATV so that if you spot loose wires, you can use duct tape to secure them. This helps prevent the wires from catching on something and getting ripped out!

Maintain the Battery Posts

Battery posts are designed to connect your battery with the other parts of your ATV. However, these metal parts will quickly start corroding, eventually creating the need for a battery replacement. Cleaning your posts about once a month can help battery posts last longer, saving you money on replacement costs!
